It can be very strategical place as it would be another way connecting Baltics with other NATO country, alternative for Suvalki gap.
As well it will be very expensive project and due to crisis it may be delayed.
I don't mention ecological influence or research on the ground because these issues had to be optimized before.

Did not watch the video.
It is strategic ''dream'' for Finns, but not military wise. It would simply connect two capital cities together creating one quite big area (2 million people). It would also connect Finland more directly to Europe.
See here: Sweden is totally in different position vs Finland (huge bridge between Sweden and Denmark). Lastly ideas to have very fast train connection from Stockholm to Bryssel (''night train''). Finland? There is ocean between.
For Estonians? It would not be as important, but it would connect tiny Estonia more closely to Finland (which in political sense could not be harmful for them).
I call it dream as it is vision which final costs nobody will know (yet).
It would be almost double long as tunnel in UK (canal).
Projects like this uses to delay a lot. Some in Finland still sees it so ''interesting'' that for them .... costs are not the main point to look/focus/care at the moment. More like do people/countries want that (as a investment for future/future generations), and after that start to wonder how to make it happen (even making a tunnel would take long long time).
