I think that's the problem with dharmic philosophies, they tend to end up in oneness and a rational rejection of racial chauvinism... A tribal identity, an ethno-religion, that explicitly follows a "local god", that might work.

Similarly, sodomy is of no conceivable relevance to an all powerful god. It can't make someone "impure", unless god is incapable of "fixing" whatever is wrong with that person. Also, god being all knowing, that person with impure desires was deliberately created so. Thus making god a sadist, if god really is bothered by sodomy.

Any omnipotent and omniscient god seems to destroy all purpose and agency. Nothing matters, if god is real. Nothing.
