Read more about the Roman Mosaic here: http://www.metmuseum.org/now-at-the-m... This four-minute video produced by the Metropolitan Museum from footage provided by the Israel Antiquities Authority documents the initial discovery of the Lod mosaic in 1996 and its lifting and conservation in 2009. The work in 2009 produced some dramatic results that shed light on the way the mosaic was laid some seventeen hundred years ago.

EN - The Jewish Brigade was a part of the British army that existed from September 1944 and in which more than 5,000 Jewish volunteers from Palestine served. After the liberation, the Jewish Brigade was stationed in the Netherlands and Belgium, among other places. Soldiers of the Jewish Brigade stationed in IJmuiden are taking a course at the Municipal Fisheries School because they want to settle in Palestine as fishermen after their service. They practice tying knots and twisting cables. An instructor also explains in English the regulations regarding the navigation lights, with an interpreter translating his words and the answers of the students into English. On a training ship, the students put what they have learned into practice. More information: https://www.oorlogsbronnen.nl/thema/J...
