Maternal: French, a variant of a very common surname in there Durand i have a variant of it

    Their meanings are...

paternal: Comes from the Latin ' Gallicus Flumen ' translated into the Gallic River or the river from Gaul

Maternal: According to some sources it's a latinized version of an old Germanic name and whose meaning has been changed into "enduring"

Now i have more information -

1 is originally from Southern Portugal (Beja, Alentejo) and was spread also in Northern Portugal during Middle Ages, means "Moor or Moorish" and have a conection with the Reconquistadores of Portugal.
1 Have origin in Medieval Iberia, and its the Galego-Portugues form of a Latin/Germanic/Celtic (Unsure origin) word for "Shepherd of Pigs", can have origin in Asturias, and some argue a possibly Jewish origin.
2 Have a broadly Iberian origin with origin in Catholic Church, also some Jews adopted the name, also was comum in Slaves.
    Me: 48 - 53% Iberian/MENA, 44 - 47% SSA, 2 - 3% NAM
    Dad: 57 - 61% Iberian/MENA, 34 - 37% SSA, 5 - 6% NAM
    Mom: 41 - 44% Iberian/MENA, 55 - 58% SSA, 0 - 2% NAM.
