Morocco is performing large-scale military maneuvers, set to last three months, near the coasts of Spain’s Canary Islands.
In this case they have coincided with the news published a few days ago about a Moroccan NGO that has demanded before the UN the delivery of Ceuta, Melilla (Spain's enclaves in North Africa) and the Canary Islands to Morocco.
It must be remembered that Ceuta, Melilla and the Canary Islands have been part of Spain long before the Kingdom of Morocco existed.
Meanwhile moroccan coastguard is letting dozens of boats full of inmigrants arrive to the small islands of spanish sovereignty.
On the other hand, Spain is deploying infantry in the Canary Islands (It must be said that having infantry in the Canary Islands is not common) and sending Navy ships to the northern african territories of Ceuta and Melilla.
In recent years, Morocco has been acquiring military equipment with the support of the United States and Israel, also added with the help of France.
