Are you really Romanian and what is your question about really? Did you hear Romanians saying they are like French. That would not surprise me, as they really take that 'Latin' stuff too seriously.

    What's this question even about?

Romanians are more rural than the French and therefore have a slightly lower IQ, since IQ correlates very well with urbanization and office work.

There's no desire in today's Romania to imitate the French.
That said, in 1850, at the beginning of the modern Romanian state, France was considered an example to follow - like in most of Europe.

Obviously, Romania does not have the same socioeconomic potential as France, since France is a more populous state, with a significantly larger economy, and closer to the flows of capital.

Hum what ? Why a country would choose to be poor and have low education ?

Long story short, no. You cannot call Romanians ‘French wannabes.’ However, culturally speaking, French culture is deeply embedded in Romania’s culture. Starting with the language, even today, most of the neologisms (borrowed words) are of French origin. Then you have the writers, poets, thinkers, politicians, historians, architects, medics, generals, etc., who implemented all French ideas and concepts in Romanian society because they all studied and lived in France. From the 18th century until the 20th, roughly 250 years, Romania looked at France with great admiration as a leading nation in progress and civilization.

That's sound pretty racist and condescending against romanians.

I feel some hate in your post, why that?
