On MH none of the genetic groups are Romani. And I don’t score any Indian groups on ancient. So I’m puzzled. I don’t mind if I have a Roma ancestor, I’m just wondering why none of my dna test results are showing it besides Illustrative/G25.

It's probably just noise related to Iran_N ancestry

You know whats strange, the simulated coordinated I got from "explore your DNA" or more accurate than the one's I got from Illustrative. My mother is a Slavic macedonian and the Illustrative coordinates always just clump it with Bulgarian or albanian, but the simulated ones had Macedonia show up as a result

    39.6% Slavic
    37.8 % Balkan
    22.2 % Byzantine Anatolia
    0.4% Indian Subcontinent

Is the Indian subcontinent result noise level, or legitimate Indian ancestry? The Roma migration was fairly recent, so I don’t see how both major DNA testing companies missed any south Asian, west Asian, or Roma DNA.

Try the MDLP k10c calc if you can (should be free if you don't have a subscription): https://www.dnagenics.com/ancestry/admixture/mdlpk10c

It will show up as ASI. This calc is ANCIENT, obviously.

Only thing i can say Illustrative is very good. It is not shit like mytrueancestry that is for fun. Talking about us, illustrative really show what historically is correct, that we are mixture of Slavs and paleo balkan people(mostly Illyrians) and settlers from Anatolia during Roman time.
The only thing you can do if you don’t trust it is whole genome sequencing. This beats everything and you can be then 100% sure in it.

But do you think illustrative Modern is more accurate than every single commercial test available? That’s the conundrum I have at the moment. I just don’t see how ancestry, 23, ftdna, and MH would all miss georgian or Indian ancestry, but illustrative didn’t? Additionally, I did simulated coordinates using K36, and it gave me scarily accurate results. G25 basically clumped things into Bulgarian, Serbian, or Albanian, but the simulated coordinates perfectly parsed out my Montenegrin, macedonian, Serbian, and Bulgarian ancestry. I’m just trying to gauge how much I should be trusting G25 compared to all these other ones lol

G25 is just one of tools to help you with finding more about ancestry.if you think its not accurate then find something else, nothing can be 100% right. You have qpADM people say that is way more accurate but i do not know how to use it. Good luck.

For me simulated cords from k36 do not work, they give me very much Greek genetics.
