There is apparently a plan ready if for example riots were to get really out of hands, even more than last time and the army is working on their own without governement approval. It's called the "Opération Ronces" (bramble op) but nobody has any more details about it. It would involve indeed the army and Gendarmerie (Police branch, that is reserve military). Some journalists have revealed the army has already imagined how to deal with some nightmare scenarios, their big concern is if for example riots would coincide with another wave of terrorist attacks, both on civilians and infrastructures, even nuclear and there are a lot of reactors in France (many drone reconnaissances were detected at some point). The source of the leaks seems to be this former journalist under an alias "Laurent Obertone" (Fenêtre d'Overton) he wrote a trilogy of books describing possibly these scenarios in a romanticized style (to what degree is unknown), but they are it seems considering something like that in the army deep state.
