I hate word Balkan...

Balkan came from old Bulgar, so I love it

South Slavs are a nice brew of Slavs and local tribes, Slavic by language, blood and part of mentality and some non Slavic traits which are quite balanced.

More paleo-balkan then slavic almost in everything numbers, genetic, language, culture, food, music, the only slavic thing left is yugoslavs shaving their heads and dressing up in tracksuits with thick chains around their neck

I see them as both Balkan/paleo Balkan and Slavic.

For example looks between Poles and many Yugoslavs is quite contrasting.
In other word the mixing of Slavs with former south folk is apparent.
