Default ethnically speaking are northern Ukranians paler than the southern French?

Some people don't seem to be aware of how pale and western looking many people from Ukraine and eastern Europe are, living near areas with large E Euro communities including quite a few Ukranians they often go quite unnoticed until you hear their accent, the same generally isn't the case for people from southern France.

Of course Northern Ukrainians tend to be paler than the Southern French (though the latter are still distinct from the very most southern rim of Europe). What makes Ukrainians often stand out here is their very Slavic facial traits, even more so than Poles.

Indeed the majority would not really pass here though there are more than a few E Euros with Corded or CM influence who look not out of place here at all.

That would contradict the study showing that even Portugueses have paler skin than Poles. Unless you believe Portugueses have lighter skin than French, same for Ukrainians and Poles.

Some E Euros are very pale but there are also many who are swarthy, i would say as a whole the northern Ukranians are likely darker skinned but in numbers of actual pale individuals they are probably more numerous in north Ukranine than in southern France, this woman is Polish and the second pair are Ukranian

I'm not the author, but I assume it is based on a real study.

As well as skin 2. It's congruent with other studies.

Usually i recognize Poles in France by their skin more than anything else, they have an intense yellowish tone, not golden like Germanics and Scandinavians. Ukrainians too since now we have refugees, have sometimes extremely dark skins, it's like they have a smoked screen in front of it and yellowish too. Very rare to see one of them with reddish undertones like in Celtic/UK people. I wouldn't be surprised one bit Ukrainians also darker in skin on average than Portugueses.
