I downloaded a bunch of pictures of norweigan and swedish footballers with a script, and then took the 15 (by my own eyeballed judgement) with the most downturned medial canthus, and the least, and the end result seemed to just be nordic vs baltic. Is this right, or just coincidence/some other factor being modulated beyond just phenotype? Main thing that sticks out to me is the lower third height and midface length of the most downturned medial canthus average. I've also heard that a high nose bridge stretches the lacrimal tissue which elongates the medial canthus. It makes me wonder how easy you could sort players phenotypically if you pinpointed exactly what features to go by and if the rest would fall into place naturally.
Only thing that doesn't seem quite like it's precisely nordid vs baltid is that the nordid looking one has better under-eye support.

I never understood the issue with these Swedish morph pictures where we are supposed to see an epicanthic fold.

I don't know what you're talking about. Neither composites have an epicanthic fold. I am talking about the shape and position of the medial canthus, not if it's covered by skin or not.
