Up to a point, yes, though of course it is not the only reason in the slightest. But not just sexual repression either, but a generally reserved culture. I know it sounds very cliche, but when I am in Spain I feel I hear more conversation in just one hour than in any British city during a whole day.



Don't conflate feminism/LGBT culture with a genuinely sexually open one. In some ways yes. But as I explained in my "odd and counterintuitive facts" thread, not only most Latin American countries but even some MENA countries actually have more liberal prostitution laws than the UK and most states in the US and Australia. Although undoubtedly changing, for a long time there was the rite of passage of Daddy taking his 16 year old son to a brothel. And never mind the widespread adultery too.

In my opinion, the bicicleta kick is culturally appropriate only for Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking teams. When a German, Russian or Scot tries to do this, it looks out of place. It's like putting ice skates on a cow. Just someone else's cultural code.

So far there are a lot of very boring matches at the moment. The Russian team would be in its place here.

How do you explain dribbling ability of Brazilian players? It's something they were always known for. Is it connected non-euro DNA? Or?

That applies doubly to boxing and athletics too.

Actually boxing became much more racially balanced since european athletes were more included on the professional associations, particularly eastern europeans. Up until the mid 90's it was almost completely dominated by afro-americans, far from.being the case nowadays.

Up to a point, but here in the UK at least most boxers seem to be Black or South Asian, and even many of the White ones are of Italian origin, e.g. Joe Calzaghe and Enzo Maccarinelli.

Even Italy doesn't have the right vibe for this in my opinion. Van Basten is good as an exception that proves the rule.

They played terribly against Spain, I was ashamed. Still can't explain such bad presentation.

With such game they have nothing to seek against Italy that didn't impress me, but we totally sunk. Only if coach insert some fresh blood in the starting lineup.

It will be hard; but they will have max support form the fans. Team neeeds it even more when they are in poor form.
