This topic should be able to be discussed without calling people names. While Anglo-Celtic isn't an ethnic group I don't understand why it couldn't be one if Scots-Irish, Cajun etc are now considered ethnic groups? The US also has been the origin of people like Melungeon who have a specific meaning there. All the different creole population are considered ethnic groups now. They are all from mixed populations. In Australia Anglo-Celtic has a specific meaning in regards to Australia's history. I've noticed that some people historically named as Scots-Irish do have ethnic Irish ancestry as well. Scots-Irish is something that came about in the US, some might have English, Scottish and Irish blood and some might even have Huguenot ancestry or some might be of just Scots blood but many have mixed ancestries as well. What is considered an ethnic group can change over time and circumstances so if someone had Scots-Irish blood, English and also Irish Catholic ancestry they might want to say their ancestry was Anglo-Celtic to include the indigenous Irish ancestry.
In Australia it is a common term and people do sometimes say things like they were an Anglo-Celtic Aussie in describing someone. So terminology can have their own specific meaning in different countries. Ireland for example has the term Anglo-Irish which is used for the population in the past that was the Ascendency class. I don't think people that are half Irish and half English use Anglo-Irish to describe themselves in Ireland as it has historical baggage in Ireland.
I would say in Australia that some Australian traits like love of outdoors, BBQ, dry and wry sense of humour, not full of airs and graces, no class system etc would be synonymous with Anglo-Celtic in Australia because it developed out of a fusion of British and Irish ideas in opposition to the stuffy class ridden society of Britain at the time. I'm not saying the above is unique to Australia either but that is part of the Australian character that has developed and is cherished by Australians.

I like how these classification threads turn out to be completely off topic after a certain amount of time. That shows the absence of any moderation here in the form very well.

That's a very well balanced approach: it isn't an ethnic group but you could see how it could be.
So someone can personally think it's an ethnic group - Bluegrass and Cloggs or whatever, you know - but no one with authority would actually say it's an ethnic group because it isn't.
The fighting is expected, Grace. People get emotionally attached to a belief and chimp out when they don't have their way. Me pointing out the reality that it isn't considered an ethnic group - and I supported that established belief with a solid argument - unfortunately shatters people's perception of reality.
I hope Anglo-Celtic and Creoda can accept that the world doesn't see them as an ethnic group and simply accept they are of mixed ethnic groups and as such rationally define themselves as thus. Perhaps one day the world will see it differently and perhaps there will actually be people who refer to themselves as Anglo-Celtic outside of two guys on an Internet forum when asked what is their ethnicity.
Until then, Anglo-Celtic is not an ethnic group and all the autism and bad dad jokes on an internet forum won't change that.
I think we should all thank Grace for being an objective third party and ending this discussion

I only need 3 hours of sleep. Although it was a difficult sleep: I kept dreaming I'm at a restaurant and the guy sitting behind me at another table wouldn't stop making corny jokes. Every time I turned around to ask him to stop, I couldn't speak. He continued and people in the restaurant began committing suicide
Normally I dream about the last thing I read or see.
