As Serbian dude already said, Kumanovo is named after them
My theory is that, before Serb migrations to FYROM, Kumanovo was mostly Turkic (Cuman and Bulgar)

That does not make sense, since Scythians are proto-Turkics

All serious scholars say they were Iranian. Now tell me about Uralics/Finno-Ugrics connection with Indo-Europeans. Or someone else tell me.

Kumanovo Serbs I think are from Kosovo and southern Serbia
Natives of Kumanovo are descendants of Cumans

In 13th and 14th century Serbian kings from Nemanjić dynasty had Cuman mercenaries. Kamanovo in North Macedonia which was part of Serbia since early 1280s was named by Cumans https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kumanovo
Kumanovo is center of Serbian minority in NM btw.
Monastery Kumanica and Kumane were also named by Cumans.
