As Serbian dude already said, Kumanovo is named after them
My theory is that, before Serb migrations to FYROM, Kumanovo was mostly Turkic (Cuman and Bulgar)

After WW1 certain number of Serbs from Dalmatia and Lika was colonized in Macedonia, mostly around Prilep where they founded several villages. Part of them was expelled by Bulgarian forces in WW2, and some were killed. After WW2 most of them moved to Vojvodina. Smaller part stayed in Macedonia and their descendanrs today are mostly macedonized.
In Kumanovo area Serbs are mostly natives.
